Specialist lawyer for corporate and leveraged finance transactions including high yield bond and leveraged loan transactions. Main responsibilities of the position include advising, structuring and documenting:
- Issuances of high yield bonds or other debt instruments (including so-called “Unitranche” financings)
- Leveraged or corporate term loan financings
- Liability management exercises
- Other corporate financings
Duties include providing advice, reviewing and negotiating documentation, liaising with external counsel, monitoring legal and regulatory developments and market trends, training and advising sales, trading, syndicates and front office bankers on applicable aspects of leveraged financing transactions.
Required Skills/Qualifications/Experience:
- UK qualification. Additional US qualification a bonus.
- Excellent academics and strong analytical skills.
- Minimum of five years’ experience in financial services gained at a top city law firm or in-house, including at least two years specialising in high yield bonds and LBO/acquisition finance.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and key stakeholders, strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritise effectively and operate under pressure.
- Team oriented with the ability to respond and be flexible to client demands, whilst adhering to firm policies and group practices.
- Ability to identify and manage legal risks and escalate as required.
- Microsoft Office proficiency.
