Working on projects and BAU support, responsible for providing the business (Rates) with flexible, scalable and tailored user software applications where proximity developments and resources are necessary.
Work closely with Head Office (Paris) teams, especially support, pre-trade teams and leverage processes with Head Office. Document the technology stack and work on seamless integration with Head Office.
Main stakeholders will include, but not be limited to Front Office (trading, sales and structuring); the team also provides control and support teams where necessary (Middle office, Risk). The role is hands on and will develop and manage some of the projects from initiation to delivery.
Main development is around pricing tools, market data internal contribution, risk management tools, reporting tools. The team contributes in designing and implementing a resilient, efficient and scalable Information System for Rates, in close cooperation with other relevant IT, business and operational teams in London and worldwide.
Nimble to work on projects & BAU Support issues. Strong, clear and precise communication (oral & written) is a key requirement for the role. Speaking French will be an added advantage.
As part of the GMR IT department, the candidate will have to follow its governance. Provide technical solutions to the business needs and follow best practices and standards. Be the driver for change and promote strategic solutions with the view for building for the long term. Shows urgency on business related issues and manage business expectations.
Main developments include:
- Support Rates and Credit business, support Summit and Murex
- Market data (real time contribution, end of day) for the same assets
- Risk reporting (strike maps, scenario reporting)
- Reporting for support function (deal valuation, market data)
- Pre Trade pricing tools on FI/FX perimeters
The team will also ensure support and maintenance of all its development and work within an agile framework.
Functional Responsibilities:
- Have excellent interpersonal skills to interact effectively with traders and sales teams in a dynamic, fast-paced context.
- Possess strong functional knowledge of rates, credit or Fixed Income financial products, as well as a good understanding of their lifecycle during booking.
- Provide daily support to users, primarily traders, but also occasionally sales or middle office staff.
- Manage and resolve incidents and anomalies encountered.
- Conduct in-depth investigations into complex functional issues.
- Identify and document recurring incidents to achieve sustainable resolutions.
- Collaborate with production teams to optimize analysis and monitoring tools for applications.
- Maintain constant communication with project teams to stay informed and trained on new.
- Write procedures and documentation to ensure knowledge is preserved within the support team.
- Investigate with platforms and post-trade teams when issues arise with deal processing in our STP (such as mapping or transaction entry problems).
- Make recommendations regarding architecture, technologies and IT solutions.
- Analysis, problem solving and escalation.
- Carry out training and skills assessments at regular intervals.
- Follow the branch compliance rules.
- Propose new projects to the business, take lead of support topic, covering notably innovative solutions, new business, activities and products, opportunities for efficiency improvements, operational risk reduction, reporting.
- Timely progress updates to direct management as deemed necessary.
Business experience — required:
- Minimum 8 years experience
- Development & maintenance of IT systems
- Financial markets – Rates or Credit business: pricing, market making and trading risk monitoring
- Understanding of derivatives
- Experience supporting Rates and Credit
- Exposure to front-office, and control functions
- Rates & Credit trading business knowledge
Technical skills — required (min 5 years):
- Experience working with Summit
- Use of Linux, Windows, and SQL, as well as Linux commands for log analysis.
- Knowledge of TREP and TIBCO RV communication systems is an advantage
- Familiarity with the FIX protocol is an advantage.
- RTDS, Bloomberg API, LSEG EIKON

- Previous experience in working with Banks and FI's.

As a member of the wider Support team working to support the Rates & Credit business on a day to day basis and serve as first point of contact between support and the business and other IT teams. Provide direction and manage key deliveries as per business requirements. Additionally, be responsible for organizing and managing business prioritization of deliveries, ability to communicate at different levels of management.
