In this role, they have overall direct responsibility for credit, market and operational risk and oversight of enterprise risk, model risk and structural balance sheet risk through the provision of services from Head Office to the UK. Will be responsible for the risk of the Nordic region originated through the UK and Stockholm branch (soon to be opened).

SMF responsible for the Risk Function in the UK for the CIB branch of Natixis. SMF responsible for Natixis London’s approach on Climate Risk Management (2nd line of defence). The UK CRO is responsible for the UK risk management framework of governance and committees as established and reviewed by the UK CRO from time to time. As the UK platform head for Risk, he is an executive member of the Natixis Risk Management Committee. This overarching Risk Committee is chaired by the Natixis CRO.

Main Responsibilities
  • Oversight and supervision of the credit risk for the UK portfolio of Natixis.
  • Oversight and supervision of the UK Market & Counterparty Risk, defined as all market and counterparty risk generated by transactions booked in London for UK trading activities and for the Counterparty risk.
  • Oversight and supervision of Enterprise Risk management for the UK entities through close cooperation with the Head Office ERM function with the EMEA CRO and EMEA risk officers.
  • Oversight and supervision of the UK Operational risk perimeter defined as the risk borne by London.
  • Management of all risk staff in the UK including evaluations, training and professional development.
  • Contribution to the management and governance of the Risk Division through participation in Head Office Committees and notably the Natixis Risk Division Management Committee.
  • As a UK SMF, participation, contribution and validation when appropriate to all UK Branch committees as specified under the governance.
  • Contribute to the country risk envelope process for London (discussion with Country Risk Management in Head Office and participation to the CRG validation of the limits).
  • Ensure adherence to the Risk Appetite Statement as set out in the annual Natixis risk appetite framework.
  • Adherence to Natixis Risk policies and procedures and their application.
  • Participation and contribution to all risk related committees in the UK as well as ad hoc BPCE committees as and when appropriate.
  • Application of the International Risk Charters which govern the relationship between the International platforms and Head Office.
  • In the capacity of Chief Risk Officer UK, interacts as necessary with the UK regulators.
  • Establish and manage a climate and environmental risk framework in the UK.
  • Monitors UK Watch List and participates to their review in the CIB Watch List Committee.
  • Oversight of UK Counterparty Risk through a Counterparty Risk manager reporting to the EMEA Head of Market Risk and the EMEA CRO.

Required Skills/Qualifications/Experience
  • Economic and mathematical background to understand risk issues and complex transactions.
  • Ability to effectively manage a team.
  • Ability to manage, propose and approve detailed analysis.
  • Ability to explain and provide recommendations on transactions in credit committee and discussions with credit and business officers.
  • Good knowledge of European financial markets and complex financial instruments.
  • Ability to maintain and keep up to speed on new markets and products.
  • Communicate effectively with all RSD departments and business lines.
  • Ability to represent the bank at external seminars, meetings and communicate effectively with all external contacts.
  • Good knowledge of legal documentation.
  • Good knowledge of bank risk management systems and processes.
  • Strong Global Markets risk knowledge as well as the other elements of risk.
  • Experience of UK regime.
  • Strong knowledge of funds and institutional clients as well as corporate.
