Reporting to the HR Director and working with the wider HR team, the HR Assistant will provide administrative support and co-ordinate several specific HR processes on a day-to-day basis to assist with the general smooth running of the department. This is a generalist role where the role holder will be involved in all aspects of HR from recruitment, benefits, appraisals, inductions etc. The role will also provide some administrative support to the HR Director when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the HR team throughout the recruitment lifecycle, including:
- Drafting and posting job advertisements on various platforms.
- Screening resumes and applications against job requirements.
- Coordinating and scheduling candidate interviews with hiring managers.
- Communicating with candidates regarding their application status.
- Contribute to the smooth execution of the onboarding and offboarding processes by:
- Initiating the new hire process within our HR system, ensuring all relevant information is completed.
- Assisting with the setup of new employee accounts and system access.
- Coordinating the return of company property and completion of exit documentation for departing employees.
- Scheduling exit interviews with departing employees.
- Preparing exit interview questionnaires.
- Compiling and summarising feedback from exit interviews for HR team review.
- Manage and respond to inquiries received via the HR mailbox, such as:
- Processing and fulfilling reference requests for current and former employees.
- Answering general HR-related questions from employees and managers.
- Directing complex queries to the appropriate HR team member.
- Support Learning and Development initiatives by:
- Assisting the HR Director and HR Business Partner in the identification of employee training needs through performance reviews.
- Researching and gathering information on potential training providers and external development opportunities.
- Helping to coordinate logistics for internal training sessions.
- Provide administrative support to the HR Director, which may include:
- Processing and submitting expense reports.
- Assisting with the preparation of presentations or reports.
- Managing the HR Director's calendar and scheduling meetings.
- Actively participate in ad hoc projects and HR initiatives as assigned by the HR team.
Qualifications
- The HR Assistant will have recently completed a bachelor’s degree, or a minimum of 1 year’s HR experience ideally in a financial services firm.
- Someone who is passionate about people, and looking to start their career in HR.
- It is essential to possess excellent Microsoft Word and Excel skills.
- The right candidate will possess strong organisational, communication and prioritising skills.
- The HR Assistant will maintain high levels of confidentiality, work autonomously and be an energetic & enthusiastic individual.
Other Information
- Interviews will take place in August. If your application is successful, you will receive an email from the HR team to invite you for an initial phone call. The interview process and corresponding preparation advice will be outlined during your initial call.

- Location: London (Hybrid)
- 20-22 months internship
- £30,000-35,000 per annum
- 26 days of holiday entitlement (plus a day off on your birthday, plus Bank Holidays)
