You'll join our Credit Risk engineering team, supporting a strategic platform that underpins how we make responsible lending decisions across a wide range of products. The team plays a key role in enabling safe, scalable and near real-time decisioning, helping us meet customer needs while maintaining a robust risk environment.
In this senior test leadership role, you'll be accountable for quality and test delivery across a sub-CIO portfolio or a complex project. You'll combine deep technical expertise with strong leadership, working across engineering, product and delivery teams to shape test strategy, strengthen quality practices and enable reliable outcomes across the build out of business banking applications within the AWS Credit Risk wider hub and integrated systems.
This is an opportunity for an experienced Test Manager and technical specialist who can lead through complexity, challenge constructively and turn new approaches into practical improvements. You'll coach and mentor colleagues, mature team capability and drive greater use of automation, CI/CD, shift-left testing and AI to improve quality and efficiency.
At Nationwide we offer hybrid working wherever possible. More rewarding relationships are supported through our hybrid approach, bringing colleagues together across our UK wide estate, whilst also supporting generous access to home working. Responsibilities
What you’ll be doing
As an E3 Test Manager, you will provide technical test leadership and own the effective delivery of quality outcomes. Depending on the needs of the portfolio or project, you will:
Lead test delivery across complex programmes or portfolios, providing clear direction, governance, planning and assurance to ensure successful outcomes. Execute the test strategy, ensuring quality delivery aligns with organisational standards, engineering practices, and risk and compliance requirements. Oversee the consistent application of testing, security and control standards, addressing gaps and driving continuous improvement.
Through strong technical leadership, guide teams on testing technologies, architectures, tooling and quality engineering practices. Work closely with stakeholders and engineering teams to challenge constructively, improve testability, and enhance delivery outcomes. Drive the adoption of CI/CD and shift-left testing practices, increasing automation and reducing reliance on manual integration testing.
Champion modern testing approaches, including automated, API and risk-based testing, using delivery metrics and quality insights to identify risks and prioritise improvements. Also promote the responsible adoption of AI capabilities to improve efficiency and quality across the domain. In partnership with E4 leadership, support resource planning by identifying future demand, capability gaps and practical resourcing solutions that enable successful delivery.
