With the integration of Nationwide and Virgin Money there has never been a more exciting time to work in regulatory change at the society. We’re looking for a Scrum Master to support the delivery of our Data Lake programme. This is an opportunity to join a growing team delivering strategic data and reporting capabilities that support important business and regulatory outcomes.
You’ll work closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Developers, Testers and stakeholders across Finance, Data, Technology and Change. You’ll also have a direct report, providing day-to-day support and helping them build their delivery and Agile capability.
The keys to success in this role are strong organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills, combined with the ability to build effective relationships across a wide range of teams. Success requires a self-motivated individual who takes pride in delivering value for business stakeholders and consistently focuses on achieving positive outcomes.
The role also demands an inquisitive and collaborative mindset, with the confidence to coordinate activity across multiple teams, navigate challenges and remove blockers through effective partnership working. A proactive approach, sound judgement and a willingness to continuously learn and develop are equally important, enabling the individual to adapt, improve and make informed decisions in a fast-paced environment.
The team works under an agile framework, focussing on 2-week sprints where each team member delivers value towards the overall project goals. The team works across multiple deliverables covering regulatory reporting and strategic data lake work and upcoming Virgin Money integration activities. We support all reporting across the Finance function.
In this role you’ll get to experience how regulatory-driven changes impact our Financial Risk categories and our Society-wide reporting. You’ll establish strong relationships with key stakeholders across the entire organisation.
We are happy to consider flexible working approaches to help you perform at your best.
At Nationwide we offer hybrid working wherever possible. More rewarding relationships are supported through our hybrid approach, building colleagues together across our UK wide estate, whilst also supporting generous access to home working. We value our time in the office to solve problems, to learn, and to feel connected.
For this job you’ll spend at least two days per week, or if part time you’ll spend 40% of your working time, based at either our London, Glasgow or Swindon office. If you’re based at our Glasgow office, this will apply from 1 April 2027 and ahead of that there will be a need to regularly connect with colleagues for collaboration events. If your application is successful, your hiring manager will provide further details on how this works. You can also find out more about our approach to hybrid working here.
Nationwide is committed to the redeployment of our employees impacted by change, as such applications for redeployment candidates will be prioritised in this recruitment process.
If you’re a colleague on long-term absence (for example, on parental leave) or a temporary worker, please use your personal email address to submit an application.
