We are a small team with a wide ranging and varied remit, undertaking important and influential work to very high standards and tight deadlines. You’ll be responsible for helping to develop Nationwide’s climate disclosures, supporting our net-zero ambitions, and communicating our progress clearly to senior internal and external stakeholders.

Climate change, and our response to it, is becoming increasingly important to our members, colleagues, investors, and regulators, and developing and helping to influence our response to it is a crucial part of Nationwide’s strategic driver beacon for mutual good. We are happy to consider flexible working approaches to help you perform at your best. The working hours (per week) for this role can be between 28 and 35 hours. At Nationwide we offer hybrid working wherever possible. More rewarding relationships are supported through our hybrid approach, bringing colleagues together across our UK wide estate, whilst also supporting generous access to home working. We value our time in the office to solve problems, to learn, and to feel connected. For this job you'll spend at least two days per week, or if part time you'll spend 40% of your working time, based at our Swindon office.

If your application is successful, your hiring manager will provide further details on how this works. You can also find out more about our approach to hybrid working here. Responsibilities

In this exciting role, you’ll play a key part in shaping and delivering Nationwide’s annual climate-related financial disclosures, as well as supporting the evolution of our climate targets and net-zero transition plan. Working closely with colleagues across the business, you’ll gather insights, understand progress, and translate complex information into clear, balanced and impactful reporting for members and external stakeholders. You’ll be responsible for leading the production of climate-related disclosures, bringing together climate risk, financed emissions, scenario analysis, governance and data insights into evidence-based communications.

Keeping abreast of regulatory developments, disclosure requirements and industry trends, you’ll help ensure our approach remains relevant, robust and aligned with emerging expectations. You’ll also monitor competitor activity to identify opportunities for continuous improvement. As we continue our journey towards a net-zero economy, you’ll contribute to the development of Nationwide’s transition plan and climate ambitions, helping to define how we respond to changing environmental challenges. You’ll build strong relationships across the organisation, represent Nationwide in industry forums and working groups, and support engagement with external stakeholders to drive positive environmental outcomes and contribute to a greener society.
