We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Manager to join Nationwide's Treasury Finance team. This is a high-profile leadership role within one of the Society's most interesting and complex areas. We provide technical accounting, financial reporting and regulatory reporting expertise in relation to the Treasury business to ensure that the Society continues to operate in a safe, well-controlled and financially resilient manner. As Nationwide continues to evolve, this role offers the opportunity to have a significant impact on how Finance operates in the future.
As Senior Treasury Finance Manager, you will lead the development and delivery of change and transformation across Treasury Finance. You will challenge existing ways of working, drive simplification and automation, and help shape how the team leverages data, technology and AI to improve efficiency, insight and control.
You will provide leadership and oversight across Treasury Finance reporting processes and controls, ensuring that financial and regulatory reporting remains accurate, efficient and compliant. Working closely with senior stakeholders across Finance and Treasury, you will support the delivery of strategic initiatives whilst maintaining a strong focus on governance, risk management and operational excellence.
This role provides an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance leader to influence how Treasury Finance evolves to meet changing business, regulatory and technological demands.

The working hours (per week) for this role can be between 28 and 35 hours.

Responsibilities
What you’ll be doing
You'll join a collaborative team that values technical excellence, innovation and continuous improvement, helping to ensure we continue to serve our members safely, efficiently and effectively.
In this role, you'll lead change, transformation and integration initiatives across Treasury Finance, while driving greater automation and AI adoption to simplify processes, reduce manual activity and improve insight. You'll support continuous improvement across financial reporting, regulatory reporting and management information processes, ensuring they remain robust, efficient and compliant.
You'll oversee the Treasury Finance control framework and governance arrangements, providing challenge and oversight across key deliverables including month-end reporting, financial disclosures and regulatory submissions. Working closely with Treasury, Financial Reporting, Risk, Change and Technology teams, you'll help deliver strategic initiatives and new capabilities, while building relationships with auditors, consultants, regulators and technology partners.
You'll also contribute to the wider leadership of Financial Reporting & Tax, helping shape the future direction of the function, while leading, coaching and developing a high-performing team in an inclusive environment where colleagues can thrive.
About you
We're looking for someone who combines strong technical expertise with a passion for change and transformation. As a minimum, you will have the following skills and experience:

Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent), with significant post qualification experience

Significant experience within Treasury Finance, Financial Reporting, Treasury, Regulatory Reporting or technical accounting environments within Financial Services

Demonstratable experience of financial control frameworks, governance and risk management

Experience of interpreting complex accounting and regulatory requirements and translating them into practical business solutions

Well-developed stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders across Finance, Treasury and wider business functions

A passion for continuous improvement and leveraging technology, data and AI to improve business outcomes

Proven people leadership experience, including building capability and developing high-performing teams

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts in a clear and engaging way

Experience of leading accounting policy or regulatory change and transformation programmes
