We are looking for a RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) Engineer to join the Linux Build team. Our engineers are responsible for producing secure, compliant RHEL servers at scale as well as being the technical go-to for the organisation. You’ll have a good understanding of RHEL with the ability to act like a DevOps engineer and understand complex deployment pipelines bringing your automation first mindset. This is a 12-month Fixed Term Contract opportunity. At Nationwide we offer hybrid working wherever possible.

Responsibilities

You will assist in the design, implementation and management of complex deployment pipelines while maintaining and enforcing system build and hardening standards in alignment with Nationwide’s Evergreen Strategy. You will be involved in advancing our Automation and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) capabilities through CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Ansible, AAP and Terraform while applying CIS benchmarks using Ansible Automation, providing technical expertise.

About you

As a minimum requirement, you’ll have:

  • Hands-on experience with RHEL
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code and post-deployment configuration tools such as Terraform, Ansible, GitHub Actions, and AAP
  • Ability to automate RHEL VM deployments in VMware environments
  • Understanding of Security-as-Code (SaC) principles and their integration into CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience enhancing and maintaining existing automation pipelines
  • Demonstrated capability in diagnosing and resolving complex infrastructure issues effectively
