This is an exciting opportunity to join Nationwide’s Strategy team and play a central role in the development and delivery of Nationwide Growth. Nationwide Growth supports ambitious privately-owned UK businesses by providing minority equity investments to support their growth and long-term value creation.
The role combines investment opportunity assessment, delivery, and active portfolio management. You will build relationships with prospective portfolio companies and their advisers, assess strategic and financial attractiveness, lead on transaction proposals from origination through to governance and execution, and support portfolio companies to help create sustainable long-term value.
Working closely with colleagues across Strategy, Legal, Risk, Finance, and other specialist teams (including Business Banking), you will help establish a disciplined, scalable, and well-governed investment process, and manage the resulting investment portfolio. The role balances commercial judgement and pace, with robust analysis, effective stakeholder management, and Nationwide’s commitment to delivering value for its members.

The working hours (per week) for this role can be between 28 and 35 hours.

For this job you'll spend at least two days per week, or if part time you'll spend 40% of your working time, based at either our Swindon, London or Glasgow office. If you’re based at our Glasgow office, this will apply from 1 April 2027 and ahead of that there will be a need to regularly connect with colleagues for collaboration events.
