This role is an E3 engineering role within Security & Resilience - Security Transformation Engineering Team. It will initially be focused solely on the IBM Guardium product support for security. An E3 role will be setting an example to engineers and providing a point of escalation, support and assurance where required.
IBM Guardium is a critical security and compliance capability used to support database activity monitoring across databases. The platform supports multiple environments, including Development, Testing and Production, and covers key database technologies including IBM Db2 for z/OS, SAP HANA and Microsoft SQL Server.
The post holder will champion platform stability, efficiency, resilience and continual improvement, ensuring that critical database security tooling is robust, reliable and aligned to the organisation’s strategic needs.
A key function of the role will be to lead the uplift, modernisation and long term evolution of the IBM Guardium capability.

For this role, you'll be based at your nearest regional office or hub. We value time spent together to connect with colleagues for collaboration so there will be a regular requirement to attend our Swindon site approximately once per quarter. If you are based at an office location, you'll be expected to meet our hybrid working requirement of at least two days a week, or 40% of your working time if part-time, in the office. If you're based at our Glasgow office, this will apply from 1 April 2027 and ahead of that there will be a need to regularly connect with colleagues for collaboration events.
