As a HR Change Consultant (Partnering and Change Consultant), you’ll support a variety of People related work packages providing consultative oversight and guidance to the business. You will support several People Change activities helping us integrate and grow through careful data and complex process management. You’ll also get involved in investigating and responding to escalated AskHR queries linked to the NBS policy suite and employee terms and conditions. You will gather and use people data producing insights to support business decision-making.
This is a hugely varied role for a true HR generalist with strong data skills and excellent attention to detail. This is a role within the People Partnering and Change Delivery Team, working alongside other Consultants, Partners, and Advisers. You’ll also work with our recognised Unions, to share information and nurture our positive relationship.
The working hours (per week) for this role can be between 30 and 35 hours. This is a 12-month Fixed Term Contract opportunity. We offer hybrid working wherever possible. More rewarding relationships are supported through our hybrid approach, bringing colleagues together across our UK-wide estate, whilst also supporting generous access to home working. For this job, you’ll be located at our nearest regional hub. There will be a need to regularly connect with colleagues for collaboration events in one of our office sites. This is anticipated to be quarterly in Swindon.
What you’ll be doing
- You will work as part of a squad alongside our People Partners and Senior People Partners to deliver transformational People Change. We always manage Change with a strong ethic of care regardless of its size and complexity.
- You’ll be producing insight by gathering data and producing insights on the findings (e.g. absence, planned leave, working patterns, I&D, spans and layers) to inform business decisions and workforce planning.
- Additionally, you will support consultation activity such as tracking people data, consultation forms and managing change queries in line with business needs so we can service our customers effectively. In doing this you’ll be able to work with business leaders on job evaluations and role profile changes within our regulated environment.
- Furthermore, you will investigate and respond to escalated queries from Ask HR/other People Function teams or our Unions, including queries linked to our NBS policies and employee contracts. These are likely to be complex queries that can require challenging and sensitive conversations with managers and employees, as well as thorough research and investigation.
About you
- Strong planning and organisational skills with significant experience of managing and prioritising workload to tight deadlines. You will be accustomed to juggling a number of demands and stakeholders simultaneously.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Comfortable sourcing, managing and maintaining sensitive data through Excel and PeopleCloud.
- Experience supporting and ideally advising on People Change activity with experience in other People Function or Change Delivery teams.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to partner key stakeholders. You should be curious and able to build strong relationships and work collaboratively. This communication is often conducted in verbal format.
- The ability to logically evaluate and apply judgement to situations, overcome challenges and provide solutions at pace. You will be able to think laterally about how to solve problems utilising your HR knowledge.
