As an IFRS 9 Modelling Manager you will lead a small team of credit modellers to develop risk models to forecast the Banks Loan Loss provisions. The remit covers all types of models within the Business Banking IFRS 9 Provisioning landscape (PD/LGD/EAD). The team’s focus is on the development, validation, management and monitoring of our models and providing first class support to our stakeholders across Risk and Finance. What you’ll be doing:
- Delivering and enhancing our Business Banking IFRS9 credit risk models.
- Managing key model activities, including quarterly economic model refreshes and PMA calculations.
- Ensuring outputs meet regulatory, Bank and stakeholder expectations.
- Developing and implementing IFRS9 models, delivering model outputs into business-as-usual processes.
- Presenting model outcomes with recommendations to address model limitations.
- Supporting ad hoc analysis, leading audit reviews of Business Banking IFRS9 model outputs.
- Producing robust analytics to inform committee and stakeholder decisions.
- Providing expertise on Business Banking modelling across the wider organisation.
- Supporting and developing junior team members.
- Contributing to broader discussions across the Bank's risk and modelling networks.
About you:
- Demonstrable and extensive experience in a Business/Corporate Credit Modelling role, covering areas such as IRB, IFRS 9, Stress Testing, Economic Capital and Pricing.
- Demonstrable experience developing and enhancing IFRS 9 Business/Corporate Credit Models, including PD, LGD and EAD models.
- Experience leading small teams as part of a IFRS9/Stress Testing modelling and BAU process.
- Significant involvement in most components of the Model Lifecycle (Scoping, development, implementation, monitoring).
- Confident explaining model outcomes to non-technical specialists and an ability to use persuasive arguments to influence key stakeholders.
- Excellent knowledge of a range of Credit Risk Modelling techniques for PD/LGD/EAD (IFRS9/Stress Testing/IRB).
- A degree in a numerate discipline subject (e.g. statistics, maths, engineering, econometrics).
- A solid foundation in statistical programming languages and data querying (SAS/SQL/Python/R).
