As a Customer Representative, you will support customers in person, over the phone and online, helping with transactions, queries, and guiding them toward banking products and digital tools. No two days are the same; you will adapt your approach to meet the needs of different customers and situations.

Details

  • Location: Ringwood, Hampshire (3 Market Place, Ringwood, Hampshire, BH24 1AN, GB)
  • Contract: 12-month Fixed Term Contract
  • Hours: Full‑time, 35 hours per week, Monday to Saturday
  • Commute: Must be within a 45‑minute commute of the branch

All 696 branches remain open until at least 2030; this branch is closed to the public every Monday and Wednesday, during which you will primarily support customers by taking calls on our savings line.

What you’ll be doing

  • Welcome customers into the branch, understand their needs, and offer friendly, trusted help with banking.
  • Handle a range of transactions and queries accurately while keeping customer needs, security and fairness front of mind.
  • Guide customers through banking products and services that are right for them.
  • Work closely with colleagues in a busy branch environment to deliver excellent customer service at peak times.
  • Take responsibility for following processes, spotting potential issues, and escalating concerns to protect customers and Nationwide.
  • Play a vital role in keeping face‑to‑face banking meaningful and accessible on the high street.

About you

  • Experience or passion for customer‑service environments (banking experience not required).
  • Demonstrate pride in helping customers feel confident, supported and listened to, even when busy or complex.
  • Show patience, empathy, strong people skills and ability to fully understand customers’ banking needs.
  • Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment where priorities can shift.
  • Stay calm under pressure, adapt quickly, and approach change with a positive mindset.
  • Confident using technology and digitally savvy.
  • Enjoy working as part of a high‑performing team and build great customer experiences together.
  • Communicate clearly and naturally with people, guide customers face‑to‑face, on the phone and through digital services.
  • Takes ownership, acts with care and integrity to protect customers and their money.
