Working in the Business Support area of Nationwide’s arrears management function, Collections & Recoveries, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual to progress their career within the Secured Strategy team on a 12 month secondment. The role will be focused on supporting Collections and Recoveries with Virgin Money (VM) product integration for Residential and Buy to Let VM mortgages. Ensuring a smooth and successful integration will support the department’s vision to “Deliver best in class Collections and Recoveries performance through great customer service, via inspired people in a flexible and cost-efficient manner with the agility to adapt to changing business needs”. This is a 12-month secondment opportunity.

Responsibilities

  • Recognised as a subject matter expert in your area, your work will be varied and demanding.
  • Under the guidance of the Senior Strategy Manager (Secured), you will be responsible for:
    • Supporting collections and Recoveries with VM product integration for Residential and Buy to Let VM mortgages.
    • Supporting the design, development and implementation of collections strategies, shaping new strategies to support post integration whilst maintaining regulatory compliance.
    • Develop continuous improvements in strategies and processes used across the department to generate further efficiencies in team delivery.
    • Supporting the design and delivery of high quality, insightful and informative strategy reports/packs for senior committees across the society that will enable understanding of performance post integration and drive and promote strategic decision making across relevant business areas.
    • You will carry out analysis and report your findings on performance in key activities in comparisons to industry peers.
    • You will undertake a proactive role on a portfolio of complex and concurrent activities end to end and liaise with the relevant management teams and business stakeholders to broaden knowledge and understanding of the Collections & Recoveries landscape to provide an optimal solution to any risks and associated issues that arise.

About you

  • A proven track record of working with data, showing a logical approach to problem solving in relation to both business and technical issues.
  • Experience in data manipulation and analysis in Excel, SAS or SQL.
  • Understanding of financial products such as Mortgages.
  • Excellent report writing and presentation skills with the ability to keep the complex simple.
  • Good communicator with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience working within a change environment.
