Description

As a Risk Control & Mitigation Advisor within Business Controls, you will help Business Banking maintain a strong and effective control environment. You will support important activity linked to market abuse controls, personal account dealing, conflicts of interest, information barriers and the handling of inside information. Working closely with colleagues across Business Banking, Risk and other areas, you will help make sure key controls are applied consistently, risks are understood and customer and member outcomes remain protected.

This role sits within Business Controls, supporting Business Banking to manage risk and meet important legal, regulatory and internal control requirements. You will help operate and strengthen first-line controls, provide practical advice to stakeholders and support a culture where risks are identified, managed and escalated in the right way.

  • Knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements for listed companies, including inside information, information barriers, conflict management and personal account dealing.

  • A good understanding of risk and control environments within a complex, fast-paced business.

  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the confidence to challenge constructively and professionally.

  • Commercial awareness, with an understanding of how effective risk management supports good business, customer and member outcomes.

  • A proactive approach to problem solving, with strong attention to detail and the flexibility to respond to changing business priorities.

  • Say it straight - We are brave in speaking out and saying what we think – we’re honest and direct with good intent, openly sharing diverse perspectives to reach the best conclusions and using language everyone can understand
  • Push for better - We don’t settle for mediocrity, we challenge the status quo, taking responsibility for continuous improvement and personal development
  • Get it done - We prioritise what will have the greatest impact, we are decisive, and we take accountability for delivering brilliant customer outcomes
