We're looking for a skilled Cloud Engineer with experience in Cloud technologies to collaborate with our Data Platforms Engineering team on advancing our Enterprise Data Lakehouse platform. If you're passionate about developing scalable data solutions and automating infrastructure, this role is for you. For this job, you'll spend at least two days per week, or if part-time, you'll spend 40% of your working time, based at our London office. Responsibilities:
- Work in the Data Platforms Engineering team, utilising cutting-edge Cloud technology within Microsoft Azure to enhance our Enterprise Data Lakehouse platform.
- Design and develop key platform functionality and data analytics solutions using tools such as Databricks, Python, and Terraform.
- Contribute significantly to daily operations, ensuring the efficiency and accuracy of our data platforms and processes.
- Build robust code to underpin our platforms and implement ETL processes to streamline data movement.
- Optimise data pipelines to enhance the performance of reporting tools and dashboards.
- Automate routine data processes, reducing manual effort and enhancing overall efficiency.
- Ensure data security and compliance standards are upheld.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation across all development efforts.
About you:
- Proficiency in DevOps principles and tools for continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD).
- Proficiency in Terraform for infrastructure as code (IaC).
- Expertise in Python programming for data manipulation, automation, and tool development.
- Understanding of modern development practices – Agile.
- Experience in functional and non-functional testing.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
- Familiarity with modern data engineering stack tools, including Databricks.
- Previous success in designing and implementing ETL processes.
- Ability to automate routine data processes using scripting and automation tools.
