The Business Credit Strategy team has full ownership of automated credit risk strategies deployed throughout the credit risk lifecycle (across acquisition and in-life management). We are a dedicated group of credit risk experts with a passion for making business lending better and simpler for the Society. The team delivers high-quality, impactful strategies to support the ambitious growth plans of the Group Business Bank in a safe and sustainable way.

At Nationwide we offer hybrid working wherever possible. We value our time in the office to solve problems, to learn, and to feel connected. For this job you'll be located at our nearest regional office or hub. There will be a need to regularly connect with colleagues for collaboration and in some locations you’ll be expected to spend at least two days a week, or if part time you'll spend 40% of your working time, in the office.

Responsibilities
You will use analytical software (primarily SAS and Excel) to perform rigorous data analysis to support the development and enhancement of credit risk strategies. You will also help to develop and maintain a suite of reporting and insight to monitor the performance of the strategies and the portfolio. At times you will need to support the Credit Risk Manager to provide meaningful insight and recommendations for Senior Management and relevant forums. You will work closely with the Decision Systems team to ensure strategy changes are deployed accurately by providing clear requirements and supporting with testing/validation, as well as updating and maintaining key documentation detailing credit risk strategies.
About you
As a minimum, you’ll have:
- Experience using SAS, SQL, or similar analytical tools to interrogate and analyse large data sets
- Well developed analytical skills, with experience translating data into meaningful insights and recommendations
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey clear information to a range of audiences
- Good report writing skills with the ability to condense and simplify complex information
- Ability to prioritise own workload effectively
