This role sits within our Financial Risk Solutions (FRS) Dealing Room Team, a specialist team within Group Business Banking that supports customers with foreign exchange and other risk management solutions. The team plays a key role in helping businesses operate confidently in both domestic and international markets. The purpose of this role is to deliver value through a combination of accurate trade execution, market insight and strong relationship management. You’ll support customers in understanding and managing their exposure to financial markets, while contributing to the growth of the FX business.

The role has a direct impact on both customer outcomes and commercial performance, requiring a strong focus on service, revenue generation and adherence to regulatory and risk standards, all within a collaborative and fast-paced environment. As an FX Dealer/Relationship Manager within FRS, you’ll combine hands-on foreign exchange dealing with proactive relationship management for SME and Corporate customers. You’ll execute FX transactions accurately in a fast-paced environment while building strong client relationships and helping customers manage currency risk.

Working directly with customers, you’ll discuss market movements, understand their exposures and identify opportunities to support their business objectives through appropriate solutions. You’ll play a key role in growing the FX business, delivering income, and ensuring a high-quality customer experience through every interaction.

Responsibilities:

  • You’ll work in a fast-paced dealing environment, speaking with SME and Corporate customers to understand their foreign exchange needs and executing trades accurately on their behalf.
  • Alongside this, you’ll build and maintain strong relationships, using market insight to have informed conversations and help customers manage their exposure to currency movements.
  • You’ll collaborate closely with colleagues across the bank to deliver a seamless service, while ensuring all activity meets regulatory and internal standards.
  • Over time, you’ll develop your own portfolio, proactively engaging customers to drive income and support the growth of the foreign exchange business.

About you:

  • Proven experience in foreign exchange, treasury, or a financial markets role with direct customer interaction.
  • Experience managing and growing relationships with SME or Corporate customers.
  • Proven understanding of financial markets, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly to customers.
  • Demonstrable ability to operate with high accuracy in a fast-paced, time-critical environment.
  • Experience working within regulated frameworks, with a strong awareness of risk and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and influence outcomes.
  • Adept organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
