Colleague Engagement Manager - Events in Glasgow

Colleague Engagement Manager - Events in Glasgow

Glasgow Full-Time On-site
N
Description

Are you an organised and energetic events professional who loves turning an idea into a brilliantly delivered experience? Can you manage the detail without losing sight of the audience and the purpose? Do you enjoy bringing people, suppliers and moving parts together to make sure everything works on the day?

We’re building a new Business Banking Engagement team to help bring our strategy to life for colleagues and customers.

As Colleague Engagement Manager, Events, you’ll support the planning and delivery of internal and customer events across Business Banking. You’ll manage logistics, coordinate stakeholders and suppliers, develop event content and help create experiences that leave colleagues and customers feeling informed, valued and connected.

This is a hands-on role for someone who is equally comfortable building a detailed delivery plan, working with senior speakers and solving the inevitable last-minute challenge.

The Business Banking Engagement team brings together communications, events, colleague engagement, culture and shared content capability.

The Events team will support a broad portfolio of activity, from colleague conferences and leadership events to customer roundtables, sector events, relationship experiences and key business moments.

We want to move from individual, disconnected activity to a more coordinated events programme with clear objectives, consistent standards and a strong focus on the audience experience.

At Nationwide we offer hybrid working wherever possible. More rewarding relationships are supported through our hybrid approach, bringing colleagues together across our UK wide estate, whilst also supporting generous access to home working. We value our time in the office to solve problems, to learn, and to feel connected.

For this job you'll spend at least two days per week, or if part time you'll spend 40% of your working time, based at either our Glasgow, Edinburgh, London or Northampton office. If you’re based at our Glasgow office, this will apply from 1 April 2027 and ahead of that there will be a need to regularly connect with colleagues for collaboration events. Alternatively, you'll be located at our Edinburgh hub. If your application is successful, your hiring manager will provide further details on how this works. You can also find out more about our approach to hybrid working here.

Whilst these locations are where we are primarily looking to fill the role, if you’re an internal applicant based in a different location we would welcome your application and if successful, your hiring manager will provide further details on how this could work for this specific role. You can also find out more about our approach to hybrid working here.

Responsibilities

What you’ll be doing

Reporting to the Colleague Engagement Lead Manager for Events, you’ll support the planning and delivery of Business Banking’s internal and customer events programme. You will plan and coordinate colleague, customer and leadership events from initial brief through to delivery and evaluation, developing clear event plans that cover objectives, audiences, milestones, responsibilities, budgets, risks and measures of success.

You’ll manage venues, suppliers, agencies, production partners and other delivery requirements, while coordinating invitations, registration, attendee communications and accessibility requirements. Working closely with stakeholders and speakers, you’ll develop agendas, presentations, briefing materials and event content, supporting leadership events, all-colleague activity, conferences and significant strategic moments, as well as customer conferences, roundtables, sector events and relationship-building activity.

You’ll ensure events are aligned with Business Banking priorities, brand standards and audience needs, while managing all event logistics including venues, travel, accommodation, catering, technology, staging and production. The role also involves maintaining detailed schedules, trackers, running orders, risk assessments and contingency plans, monitoring budgets, raising purchase orders and maintaining accurate financial records.

You’ll build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners, identify and resolve delivery issues, escalating significant risks when required, and provide confident on-site support to help events run smoothly from beginning to end. In addition, you’ll gather attendee feedback and delivery data to produce clear evaluations and recommendations, apply learning from each event to improve future activity, support the maintenance of a Business Banking events calendar and forward plan, and help ensure all experiences are inclusive, accessible, professional and welcoming.
