We’re looking for a Senior Consultant to join our Fraud Analytics team and help protect our members from fraud and scams. In this role, you’ll work alongside subject matter experts to shape detection strategies and develop technical solutions that reduce losses while maintaining a great customer experience. You’ll use either SAS or SQL to build queries and deliver insights, representing our team across the business and the wider industry.
This is an opportunity to make a real impact within our Economic Crime department, collaborating with colleagues and stakeholders to stay ahead of evolving fraud tactics. What you’ll be doing:
As a Senior Consultant, you’ll be a subject matter expert within our Analytics function, taking ownership of fraud and scam management in a specific channel. You’ll work closely with stakeholders, providing consultancy and sharing your expertise to support the wider team. Your role will also involve monitoring fraud and scam performance, using data-driven insights to identify trends and shape strategies that keep us ahead of emerging threats.
About you:
We’re looking for someone with strong technical expertise and a passion for problem solving. You’ll bring the ability to turn data into actionable insights and work collaboratively to protect our members. For this role, you will have:
- The ability to use data to recognise patterns and make innovative suggestions
- Experience in coding languages or programmes such as SQL or SAS, along with Excel
- Proven data manipulation and analysis skills, including working with large datasets to interpret fraud trends and present findings to key stakeholders
- Confidence in influencing others to ensure Nationwide is not exposed to unnecessary fraud risks
- The ability to consult on subject matter both internally and externally
- A logical approach to problem‑solving and the confidence to make recommendations for solutions
