The predicted salary is between 55000 - 65000 £ per year.

Covering the North & East Scotland region, you will need to be based locally in Aberdeen and be prepared to travel regularly to meet customers across the region. You will also need to attend collaboration events at one of our office sites, anticipated monthly in Edinburgh or Aberdeen, although locations may vary. Further details about our hybrid working approach will be provided upon hiring.

What you’ll be doing

  • As a key member of the North & East Scotland Strategic Finance Team, you’ll be primarily responsible for assisting our Relationship Managers and Senior Directors to support customers and drive business growth.
  • Your duties will include:
    • Assisting with relationship management and sourcing high‑quality customers while strengthening brand visibility in the local and regional marketplace.
    • Evaluating and generating opportunities with new and existing customers, supporting the conversion of these opportunities from initial meetings to completed transactions.
    • Preparing credit applications for existing and new proposals, including the analysis of financial models and undertaking independent research on target companies and sub‑sectors.
    • Instructing, completing, and processing internal and external documentation to ensure loan and security documentation is prepared correctly and due diligence is properly scoped.
    • Providing new customers with a seamless onboarding experience and ensuring compliance on all credit, operations, loan administration, and other risk and administrative matters.
    • Monitoring ongoing compliance with facility agreements and covenants, and ensuring that all pre‑ and post‑deal housekeeping and internal compliance requirements are met.
    • Coordinating with customers, external agencies, and credit teams regarding existing customer reviews and consent requests.

About you

  • We need you to have:
    • A passion for, or experience of, working in the UK fishing industry.
    • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to engage and build lasting relationships with fishing customers and external professional networks.
    • The ability to cope with complex situations, work to tight deadlines, solve problems, and approach challenges with flexibility.
    • Excellent qualitative and quantitative analytical skills, including Excel financial modelling, with an ability to understand and interpret financial statements and due diligence reports.
    • Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to assimilate, understand and efficiently present information to various stakeholders to produce effective lending outcomes.
    • A graduate degree, or a vocational qualification in finance, or demonstrable experience working within the fishing industry.
