You should have the ability to work flexibly, be it on nights, weekends, or staying away as required. The Division NSS Testing specialises in the testing, inspection and installation of commercial building safety systems across the UK. From fall arrest equipment and life safety systems to automation and access control, our engineers help keep buildings safe, compliant and operational. We are now looking for a Trainee Fall Protection Installation & Inspection Engineer to join our growing team of height safety engineers. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career within the access and safety industry. Full training will be provided, including industry recognised qualifications and hands‑on support from experienced engineers.

Responsibilities of the role:

  • As a Trainee Fall Protection Engineer, you will work alongside experienced engineers learning how to inspect, test, maintain and install a variety of height safety systems on commercial buildings across the UK.
  • You will be trained to work on:
    • Fall arrest and life safety systems
    • Eyebolts – fall restraint and abseil systems
    • Gantry and walkways
    • Guardrails
    • Fixed ladders and portable ladder systems
    • General lifting equipment
  • You will also learn how to:
    • Complete inspections in line with British Standards
    • Identify defects and report remedial works
    • Work safely at height using industry best practices
    • Complete digital reports and documentation accurately
    • Support other NSS divisions when required

What We’re Looking For:

  • We are looking for someone with the right attitude, reliability and willingness to learn. Previous fall protection experience is not essential as full training will be provided.
  • Ideal candidates will have:
    • A smart and professional manner
    • A full UK driving licence
    • A good work ethic and willingness to learn
    • Confidence working outdoors and at height
    • Good communication and attention to detail
    • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Flexibility to work away from home when required
  • Any experience in construction, roofing, cladding, steelwork, scaffolding, rope access, mechanical fitting, electrical work or working at height would be beneficial but is not essential.
