We are looking for 2x skilled Design Engineers to design and develop innovative mechanical and natural smoke ventilation systems. You will play a key role in delivering compliant, high-quality solutions that meet technical, safety and client requirements, working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders.
The role involves:
- Develop detailed designs for mechanical and natural smoke ventilation systems using CAD and relevant software.
- Ensure designs meet functional, safety, regulatory, international fire safety standards, EN12101 and client requirements while aligning with client specifications.
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and consultants to integrate ventilation systems seamlessly into building designs.
- Review CFD analysis to optimise system performance in fire scenarios.
- Produce technical documentation, specifications, installation guidelines, and product details.
- Provide technical support during early conception of the design, and throughout Design Pack creation.
- Research and implement new technologies and materials to enhance system performance.
Key experience / Qualifications:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in designing smoke ventilation or similar building services.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks).
- Strong understanding of ventilation principles.
- A basic knowledge of building regulations, fire safety codes, and ventilation systems standards (e.g. EN 12101, BS 9999).
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality and compliance.
- Innovative problem-solver with a proactive and adaptable approach.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Experience in high-rise residential, new-build developments or communal building systems.
- Familiarity with Building Information Modelling (BIM) workflows.
