Are you an experienced Production Planner looking to make a real impact in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment? We’re working with a well‑established manufacturing business based in Stoke‑on‑Trent that is strengthening its planning function and is seeking a proactive, detail‑driven planner to join the team.

The Role

Reporting to the Planning Manager, you’ll be responsible for the day‑to‑day execution of production planning and scheduling activities, ensuring plans are achievable, materials are aligned, and communication across departments is clear and timely.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and manage a 6–8 week rolling production schedule
  • Translate production plans into detailed, executable schedules
  • Align material availability with production requirements
  • Identify, communicate, and escalate material or capacity constraints
  • Liaise daily with production to track progress and adjust plans
  • Maintain accurate data within the MRP/ERP system
  • Support sales order re‑dating in line with capacity and availability
  • Attend and contribute to production meetings
  • Highlight risks to customer delivery and propose mitigation actions
  • Track schedule adherence and production performance
  • Support KPI reporting, forecasting, and data accuracy
  • Coordinate NPI and production changeovers
  • Ensure production documentation is accurate and timely
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives

About You

  • Experience in production planning or scheduling
  • Manufacturing background
  • Working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems
  • Strong Excel and MS Office skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Confident communicator with a proactive mindset
