Research and Academic Programme Administrator Salary: £35,575 per annum, including London weighting Location: Central London office, with hybrid working available by agreement Contract: Full-time, 36.5 hours per week We are recruiting a highly organised Research and Academic Programme Administrator to join a small administrative team within an independent, not-for-profit professional membership organisation. The organisation works closely with surgeons, clinicians, healthcare professionals and senior medical stakeholders, so experience in a healthcare, surgical, clinical, medical membership or professional healthcare environment would be a strong advantage. This is a varied role supporting committees, professional meetings, research-related activity, communications, awards, website content and member administration. The role would suit someone with robust practical administration experience in a professional office environment, ideally gained in or around healthcare, surgery, clinical services, medical committees, hospitals, royal colleges, professional associations, learned societies or healthcare membership organisations. Key responsibilities * Provide administrative and secretarial support to senior officers, committees and specialist groups. * Prepare meeting papers, support committee administration, take minutes and maintain accurate records. * Support research, academic and professional activity, including grants, surveys, mentoring or development schemes, specialist databases, projects, trials and collaborations. * Support the planning and delivery of professional meetings and conferences, including programme administration, abstract management, speaker communications and event attendance. * Administer bursaries, awards and related communications, including confirmation letters, reports and website updates. * Create and circulate newsletters and member communications. * Prepare social media and website content to promote meetings, courses, awards, funding and relevant opportunities. * Maintain CRM, CMS and other databases accurately and professionally. * Liaise confidently with members, officers, speakers, partner organisations and external stakeholders. About you We are looking for a proactive, accurate, and confident administrator who can manage competing deadlines, handle detailed information and communicate professionally with senior stakeholders and members. Previous experience working with surgeons, clinicians, healthcare professionals, medical committees or healthcare-related organisations would be particularly relevant for this role. Essential experience and skills * Robust practical administration experience gained in a professional office environment. e.g. surgeons, clinicians, healthcare professionals and senior medical stakeholders, so experience in a healthcare, surgical, clinical, medical membership or professional healthcare environment would be a strong advantage. * This is a varied role supporting committees, professional meetings, research-related activity, communications, awards, website content and member administration. * Minute taking, meeting support or committee administration experience. * Strong written and verbal communication skills. * Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and work to tight deadlines. * Confident use of Microsoft Office. * Experience using databases, CRM systems or CMS platforms. Salary: £35,575 incl.
