A great opportunity has arisen for a Private Client Lawyer to join a busy and well-established department. You’ll manage a full caseload covering wills, probate and estate administration, providing clear, confident advice to clients while working within a friendly, collaborative team. This role is ideal for a motivated Solicitor or Legal Executive who enjoys autonomy, client contact and delivering high-quality private client work.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing a caseload of wills, probate and estate administration matters
- Advising clients on Wills, Probate, Court of Protection Deputyships, Powers of Attorney and Private Trusts/Settlements
- Providing guidance on income and capital taxation, tax planning and long-term care planning where appropriate
- Handling matters from initial instruction through to completion while maintaining excellent service standards
- Delivering clear, concise and responsive legal advice
- Working in line with professional standards, including SRA and Lexcel requirements
- Keeping your knowledge up to date and engaging in ongoing professional development
- Supporting business development through networking and representing the department at relevant events
- Assisting with tasks that contribute to the smooth running and growth of the department
What You’ll Bring
- Practical experience using a legal case management system for time recording and file progression
- Experience working within a private client department
- Experience in managing a caseload involving wills, probate and estate administration from instruction to completion
- Strong understanding of wills, probate and estate administration
- Ability to manage a caseload confidently from day one
- Experience using case management systems and time-recording
- Solid IT skills
- Knowledge of Lexcel, SRA Standards & Regulations and Money Laundering Regulations
