OverviewThis traditional School Nursing position is 5 days a week, Monday through Friday, from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm during the school year. For this year, the contract period is 8/4/2025–6/4/2026. The position will be off from 6/5/2026 to the start of the next school year. Summer is not paid at this time. Cristo Rey High School is a Catholic high school located in downtown Columbus.

Job Description SummaryEmphasizes health promotion and disease prevention as they assist patients and families to move rapidly, uneventfully, safely, and as effectively as possible through their episode of care. Delegates, oversees and provides quality, safe and developmentally appropriate patient care.

Essential Functions

Provides nursing care using a Family Centered approach.

Assesses individualized patient needs and plans, implements, educates and evaluates care using Evidence-Based Practices.

Ensures clinic processes and workflows comply with regulatory and policy compliance.

Works closely with providers and other team members to ensure a smooth clinic flow addressing patient/parent concerns and attaining positive patient and family outcomes.

Documents according to organizational standards, policies, and procedures.

Engages in the \”workplace community\” by staying aware of changes, participating in data collection or auditing, understanding Quality Improvement, and representing staff at relevant meetings and then reporting important information and updates back to staff.

Education

Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited school, required.

Bachelor\’s Degree in Nursing, preferred. Must successfully complete BSN within 5 years of start date.

Licensure

Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio, required.

Experience

Three years of pediatric clinical experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred.

Physical Requirements

Occasionally: Biohazard waste, climb stairs/ladder, color vision, electricity, fumes/gases/vapors, lifting/carrying 41-60 lbs, loud noises, machinery, power tools, pushing/pulling 100 lbs or greater with assistance, pushing/pulling 61-100 lbs, seeing far/near.

Frequently: Bend/twist, blood and/or bodily fluids, chemicals/medications, communicable diseases and/or pathogens, depth perception, flexing/extending of neck, hand use (grasping, gripping, turning), patient equipment, peripheral vision, pushing/pulling 0-25 lbs, 26-40 lbs, 41-60 lbs, reaching above shoulder, sitting, squat/kneel.

Continuously: Audible speech, computer skills, decision making, hearing acuity, interpreting data, lifting/carrying 0-10 lbs, 11-20 lbs, 21-40 lbs, problem solving, repetitive hand/arm use, standing, walking.
