That’s why we’re looking for a Training and Competency Supervisor to bring their passion, coaching expertise, and eye for quality to our Mortgage team. In this role, you’ll play a key part in shaping confident, capable advisers who deliver outstanding customer outcomes in a regulated environment. This is a 12-month secondment opportunity. At Nationwide, we offer hybrid working wherever possible. We value our time in the office to solve problems, to learn, and to feel connected. For this job, you'll be assigned to our nearest regional hub. There will be a need to regularly connect with colleagues for collaboration events in one of our office sites. This is anticipated to be quarterly.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the entire customer journey, from first contact through to mortgage offer, ensuring every interaction delivers good outcomes and showcases strong colleague competence.
  • Champion a simply brilliant experience by offering real-time guidance, sharing best practice, and providing clear, concise feedback that helps our Mortgage Advisers grow with confidence.
  • Work closely with Training & Competence Consultants to support effective development, ensure corrective actions are completed to the right standard, and guide advisers through change with clarity and care.
  • Focus on risk, responsible lending, and regulatory requirements, driving continuous improvement and identifying training needs that elevate service across the team.

About you:

  • A CeMAP qualification and the ability to complete an annual attestation to demonstrate continued fitness and propriety in role.
  • Experience providing mortgage advice.
  • Proven capability in delivering oversight and coaching to support colleague development.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft applications and knowledge of internal systems & processes.
  • Clear, confident communication skills to build effective relationships and get the best from stakeholders.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a passion for getting things right for our customers.
