As a Procurement Excellence Specialist, you’ll help drive the rollout of new systems and ways of working that shape how we buy, manage risk, and deliver value across the Society. This is a role for someone who enjoys solving problems, collaborating widely, and turning change into lasting impact. At Nationwide we offer hybrid working wherever possible. For this job, you'll be located at our nearest regional hub. There will be a need to regularly connect with colleagues for collaboration events in one of our office sites. Responsibilities
- The successful candidate will play a key role in driving the rollout of new systems, processes and ways of working that strengthen how the organisation buys, manages risk, and delivers value.
- You’ll lead the planning, coordination and execution of transformation activities, ensuring milestones, risks and dependencies are clearly tracked and addressed.
- A core part of the role involves preparing teams for upcoming changes through structured readiness activity, impact assessments, and well‑designed training that makes complex information easy to understand.
- You will work closely with stakeholders across the organisation to build trusted relationships, maintain alignment, and support the smooth integration of new processes.
- Using insights from feedback channels and engagement initiatives, you will help shape improvements to tools, processes, and wider ways of working.
- As a champion of change management, you’ll deliver clear communication, guidance, and support that enables confident adoption across diverse audiences.
- The role also requires sound judgement and the ability to make informed decisions, considering both available data and the wider organisational impact.
- You will proactively identify risks, propose mitigation actions, and ensure adherence to controls.
- With proven digital capability, you’ll use Procurement and Microsoft 365 tools to support day‑to‑day delivery while contributing insight to ongoing system and process enhancements.
- Ultimately, you will help embed continuous improvement by staying connected to emerging best practices and bringing fresh thinking back into the team.
About you
- Experienced in project delivery, process implementation or operational change in Procurement, supply chain, or similar functions.
- Skilled at influencing peers and stakeholders by building relationships and understanding their goals and challenges.
- A clear and confident communicator who can present complex or technical information in a concise, audience-appropriate format.
- Comfortable with facilitating in-person and remote workshops, training sessions, and cross-functional discussions.
- Capable of delivering quality outputs at pace whilst able to balance multiple priorities effectively.
- Excellent attention to detail with meticulous organisation and documentation skills.
- Proficient in using modern digital tools including Microsoft Copilot and AI‑enabled platforms.
- Proficient with Microsoft 365 suite and Procurement systems.
