Ready to shape the future of Personal Banking? We’re looking for a Senior Product Manager to join our team and take ownership of the product lifecycle for our Savings and Current Account portfolios. This is your chance to make a real impact—ensuring our products stay fit for purpose, deliver brilliant customer outcomes, and consistently meet in‑life governance expectations.
You’ll help us continue building a market‑leading product experience that delights customers and drives our strategic vision forward. We’re proud of our bold, disruptive approach to strengthening our product offering, and we’re looking for someone who shares that ambition.
To deliver the right customer experience, we need someone who can embed strong product management principles, challenge the status quo, and champion continuous improvement. If you’re energised by meaningful responsibility, empowered decision‑making, and the opportunity to shape products used by millions, this is the role for you.
This is an 8-month secondment opportunity. At Nationwide, we offer hybrid working wherever possible. More rewarding relationships are supported through our hybrid approach, bringing colleagues together across our UK-wide estate, whilst also supporting generous access to home working. We value our time in the office to solve problems, to learn, and to feel connected. For this job, you'll be located at our nearest regional hub. There will be a need to regularly connect with colleagues for collaboration events in one of our office sites. This is anticipated to be a minimum of once a quarter.
If your application is successful, your hiring manager will provide further details on how this works.
Responsibilities:
- As a key member of our Product Management function, you will play a central role in embedding our Nationwide Product Governance Policy across the business.
- You’ll help ensure our teams understand and meet the standards required to deliver products that are well‑designed, well‑managed, aligned with regulatory expectations and meet the needs of our members.
- You’ll lead the delivery of Lifecycle Definition Toolkits and carry out product reviews that demonstrate strong evidence, clear compliance, and positive customer outcomes.
- Working closely with wider stakeholders, you’ll make sure reviews are completed on time and backed by robust insight.
- You’ll present your findings to senior Governance forums, offering clear recommendations that support confident decision making.
- Alongside this, you’ll identify risks, strengthen controls, and help protect both our members and the organisation.
- The role also supports the in‑life management of our Savings and Personal Current Accounts, contributing to strategic improvements, ensuring compliance with wider regulatory requirements, risk management and reporting.
About you:
- An understanding of the products we offer, product lifecycles, and the governance regulations we adhere to.
- Proven ability to engage and lead stakeholders to build strong working relationships.
- The ability to clearly articulate complex product and governance matters, presenting confidently to senior managers and group governance forums in a clear and professional manner.
- The ability to work independently and deliver high quality results whilst being adaptable as we navigate towards achieving our strategic objectives.
Our customer first behaviours put customers and members at the heart of how we work together. They are the set of behaviours that every colleague needs to display, in every role:
- Feel what customers feel - We step into our customers’ shoes, using their feedback and insights to empathise with them and to understand their needs.
- Say it straight - We are brave in speaking out and saying what we think – we’re honest and direct with good intent.
- Push for better - We don’t settle for mediocrity, we challenge the status quo, taking responsibility for continuous improvement and personal development.
- Get it done - We prioritise what will have the greatest impact, we are decisive, and we take accountability for delivering brilliant customer outcomes.
You can strengthen your application by showing how our customer first behaviours resonate with you, and where you may have already demonstrated these.
