As part of the Recruitment Risk, Governance & Controls Team, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of compliant and well-governed recruitment processes across the organisation.
You will provide administrative and operational support across a range of activities, including reporting, maintaining accurate records, data collation, quality checking, and stakeholder engagement. A core responsibility will be supporting pre - employment screening for new hires, ensuring all checks are completed accurately and in line with required standards. This includes reviewing screening outcomes, preparing dispensation documentation, and liaising directly with candidates and stakeholders to gather additional information where needed.
You will also contribute to quality assurance activities, reviewing processes, analysing outcomes, and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
In addition, the role will involve close collaboration with Procurement and external suppliers, supporting supplier onboarding processes, contract renegotiations, and managing requests for additional headcount. You will ensure that all activities are delivered in line with governance frameworks and risk controls, playing an important role in maintaining compliance and mitigating risk across recruitment operations.
A key part of the role will be maintaining high-quality data and producing meaningful management information (MI) to support decision-making and oversight.

For this job you'll spend at least two days per week, or if part time you'll spend 40% of your working time, based at either our Swindon or Northampton offices. If you are aligned to our Glasgow hub (as this is your nearest location), there will be a need to regularly connect with colleagues for collaboration events. This is anticipated to be in Glasgow. Responsibilities
What you’ll be doing
You’ll work closely with other members of the Recruitment Risk, Governance & Controls Team to ensure that administration support is provided to some of our key activities. This could include running reporting, maintaining information records, collating data, quality checking or contacting stakeholders for information. This role will also support our pre-employment screening activity which is conducted as part of the onboarding of new starters to Nationwide. This could include reviewing their screening information, preparing dispensation minutes and contacting candidates to gain information relating to their personal circumstances. Maintaining accurate data relating to these processes is really important, so a key part of this role will be capturing information and being able to produce MI from this. You will also support quality assurance activity, reviewing processes, analysing what has taken place and creating actions as a result of this.
About you
You will have:
- Proven experience of conducting quality assurance activity.
- Working knowledge and understanding of Nationwide’s recruitment processes (permanent and/or contingent)
- Working knowledge and understanding of pre-employment screening standards and processes.
- Proven experience of undertaking work requiring a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Significant experience of working in roles which have required working to deadlines, prioritisation and strong organisational skills
- Demonstrable experience of using Excel to capture and manipulate data (e.g. Pivot Tables)
- Experience of dealing with multiple stakeholders and comfortable having challenging conversations
- Demonstrable experience of using SharePoint and Microsoft Teams.
- Experience of working independently
