We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Business Analyst to join our Digital Business Analysis Team as a Lead Business Analyst within our Cloud, Digital and Integration (CD&I) function, part of our Chief Operating Office.
The Digital business is a significant part of the wider Nationwide service offering. We have over 8.5 million users of our Banking App, Internet Bank and Mortgage platforms, providing members with the ability to service their daily banking needs.
As Lead Business Analyst you will have oversight of business analysis across multiple Digital portfolios, including technical Platforms and Servicing domain and Integration. You’ll be accountable for the planning and shaping of new changes, driving quality business analysis throughout the delivery lifecycle within your assigned portfolios to deliver safe and compliant customer outcomes.
With a proactive, highly motivated mindset, we’ll expect you to be hands on, collaborating with and influencing senior stakeholders, designing and delivering business solutions which add significant value to our customers. You will be confident navigating ambiguity, in a fast-paced delivery environment.
In addition to supporting the delivery of change, our Digital BAs will also contribute to Nationwide’s Business Analysis and Product Ownership Practice and help drive forward a range of initiatives, covering AI and Ways of Working.

Responsibilities
What you’ll be doing
In this role you will lead, coach and develop a team of Business Analysts, supporting delivery across multiple initiatives and locations, with a strong focus on enabling your team to perform at their very best every day.
As a senior member of the Digital Business Analysis team, you’ll lead Business Analysis activity end-to-end, ensuring alignment to enterprise outcomes, strategic objectives and cross-portfolio priorities. This includes overseeing estimation, resource planning and task management, while balancing interdependencies and competing demands, and using your experience to confidently influence both business and technology decisions with innovative, outcome-focused thinking.
In this role, you’ll drive discovery and shaping activities that support the delivery of strategic outcomes, applying your business analysis and solution design expertise to identify the right solutions. You’ll analyse complex business problems and make clear, evidence-based recommendations, managing trade-offs across cost, risk, value and time.
You will also play a key role in maintaining high standards of governance and quality across all initiatives, providing assurance of analysis, process design and solution outputs to ensure consistency, compliance and alignment to agreed standards and regulatory requirements.
Committed to continuous improvement, you’ll actively identify opportunities to enhance both your own work and that of your team throughout the delivery lifecycle. Working closely with Digital colleagues and business stakeholders, you’ll foster strong collaboration across disciplines to deliver meaningful, customer-focused outcomes.
About you
To be a successful candidate:
You’ll have extensive experience of working within a business analysis or solution design role, on complex, cross-functional initiatives with the ability to lead a team of people, preferably within financial services and/or a Digital domain.
You will be a conceptual, lateral thinker with excellent insight in defining business outcomes and requirements within a Digital environment with the ability to analyse and problem-solve to determine solutions.
You’ll have knowledge in business solution/analysis techniques, tools, and methods with a strong understanding of their purpose, fit and relevance when initiating developments.
You’ll have a strong understanding of the role of demonstrable compliance and governance within a rapid delivery environment.
You’ll have a detailed understanding of and ability to accommodate and blend the differing needs of multi-disciplined teams, consisting of internal and external resources e.g. Third-party suppliers, remote colleagues and contractors.
You’ll be a confident communicator; with the ability to present information to senior stakeholders and design forums and influence stakeholders at all levels
You’ll have a fundamental understanding of a Digital function, processes and technologies
