Overview

In this role you will lead data centre project delivery for Nationwide's on-site Swindon facility, ensuring infrastructure is planned and installed without impacting existing services. You will coordinate with third-party teams, manage risks, and guide delivery timelines. The position blends leadership with hands-on installation when needed, supporting a culture of customer-centric service and continual improvement. This is a chance to shape critical IT infrastructure in a 24/7 operation and travel to another data centre monthly.

Responsibilities

  • Lead project delivery of data centre infrastructure within agreed timescales and remove blockers.
  • Ensure installation plans optimise the environment and do not disrupt existing services.
  • Collaborate with third-party installation and cabling teams and provide technical oversight.
  • Occasionally perform hands-on installation and cabling work as required.
  • Identify, communicate, and resolve data centre risks and issues from design through implementation.
  • Review workload and secure resources to meet delivery dates; escalate shortfalls.
