What you’ll be doing

You will be architecting and designing technical solutions and platforms and providing technical direction and guidance to engineers across multiple teams. Harnessing your experience of modern engineering techniques, technology, and tooling to define resilient and highly scalable solutions.

You will be helping ensure our solutions align to strategic direction and technology choices and are appropriate to meet the long-term goals of the business strategy, as well as lower-level requirements. You will need to ensure that the solutions meet guardrails and NFRs, as well as aligning to best practice architectures and patterns.

A team player who can lead by example, you will also nurture and develop contacts and relationships to enable things to be done faster and more efficiently. It is about getting stuck in and having a go, knowing that sometimes to fail fast is to learn fast.

Nationwide is the world’s largest building society. With over 15 million customers, we have a relationship with almost a quarter of the UK’s population. We’ve got the scale to compete with the big banks, but we’re not a bank.

As a building society, we’re owned by our members – that’s our customers who have their current account, mortgage or savings with us. It means we can do things differently to deliver our Purpose – Banking – but fairer, more rewarding, and for the good of society.

When you work at Nationwide, you can experience that difference for yourself. You’ll be part of a high-performing, purpose-driven organisation that offers rewarding career experiences and a highly competitive range of benefits to match.
