This role sits within our Business Savings Products team as part of Business Banking. Our team are the business owners for Business Savings, with responsibility for the products and propositions we offer our customers. The role will focus on commercial management of the savings books across both brands, with responsibility for growth, balances, income, cost management and profitability. Activities include trading, pricing management, balance forecasting and planning over the short, medium and long term. You will also have a lead role to play in setting the product strategy as part of the overall Business Banking proposition.

This role will own and manage the commercial performance of the Business Savings book across both brands in order to achieve tactical and strategic customer, growth, risk and financial objectives. You will have responsibility for day-to-day trading activity across the savings books, managing pricing and product availability. You will also take the lead on annual planning and forecasting activity. As part of this activity, you will work hand in hand with our Finance, Treasury, Marketing, Legal, Compliance and Operational stakeholders. You will work closely with the wider product team(s) to ensure we offer products and propositions which align to our commercial and customer objectives. You’ll be expected to work closely with the Leadership Team within Business Banking to ensure alignment on plans and proposals. You will report into the Head of Group Business Savings and have a small team of 2-3 direct reports.

About you:

  • Experience in financial services at a senior manager level with understanding of financial products and processes
  • An excellent Leader, with proven ability to manage teams
  • The ability to communicate desired outcomes to Director level internally and externally
  • A performance manager, with a sound financial awareness
  • A thorough understanding of product performance and profitability
  • Working knowledge of the UK regulatory environment, including Consumer Duty and its impact on product design and delivery
  • A proven ability to create improvement and change strategies, and the ability to create and implement plans that will deliver those strategies
  • A proven record of achieving stretching commercial and financial targets in a matrix-management organisation
