The Security Officer (Facilities Operative) position will join the busy Facilities Team at Swindon, Nationwide House, with a variety of tasks to be fulfilled each day. This role is within the Property Team on site. The team are responsible for the safe opening and occupation of the site, with duties ranging from cleaning and ensuring the site is presented to a high standard, to engineering, keeping all the mechanical and electrical assets running. The Role of Facilities Operative is a vital link between all activities, to ensure all services to our colleagues on site run smoothly and on time. This is an onsite role at Swindon, Nationwide House. You will be working a 4 days on 4 days off rotating shift pattern. 4 days 7am to 7pm and 4 days off across a 7 day rota. We have one opportunity, working 40 hours.

What you’ll be doing:

  • To ensure the safety and security of people, premises and property by patrolling, monitoring surveillance equipment, controlling access and responding to incidents.
  • You will be an ambassador for our facilities team, working as one team to provide the most efficient resolution to any challenges they may face.

About you:

  • As a minimum requirement, you will need a valid SIA Licence.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and act quickly in emergencies.
  • Good computer skills for report writing, surveillance monitoring and access control management.
  • Previous experience within a similar role.
  • Have a flexible approach to working; you will need to be able to commit to working the 4 on, 4 off shift pattern.
