Senior Data Quality Analyst in London

We are looking to hire a Senior Data Quality Analyst to join our Management Information (MI) team at Nationwide Building Society. This is an exciting opportunity for a data-focused professional to play a key role in ensuring the quality, integrity and governance of data that is critical to the effective operation of our Collections & Recoveries function.

In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring, analysing and reporting on the quality of data owned by and essential to the running of Collections & Recoveries. Working closely with business stakeholders, you will identify data quality issues, investigate root causes and support the implementation of effective solutions to improve data accuracy, completeness and consistency across the department.

You will also support the department's compliance with Data Governance policies and controls by partnering with the Data Steward to create, define and maintain key data management artefacts, including business terms, metadata, data lineage and business rules. The successful candidate will play an important role in promoting strong data governance practices, ensuring that data is understood, managed and utilised effectively to support business decision-making, regulatory requirements and customer outcomes.

This role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders across the business. You will be comfortable working with large and complex data sets, translating technical concepts into meaningful business insights and contributing to the continuous improvement of data quality and governance standards across Collections & Recoveries.

In this role, you will develop and implement data quality processes and procedures to monitor, measure and improve the quality of data across the Collections & Recoveries function. You will play a key role in the production, analysis and reporting of Data Quality Scorecards, providing clear commentary on significant movements, trends and discrepancies, as well as tracking and communicating known data quality issues across the business.

Working closely with stakeholders, you will support the management, prioritisation and resolution of data quality issues to ensure critical data remains accurate, reliable and fit for purpose. You will also contribute to the maintenance and governance of team processes by supporting process document sign-off, ensuring documentation remains accurate and up to date, and completing monthly control checks with stakeholders to verify that reporting and operational processes are functioning effectively.

In addition, you will maintain an accurate inventory of live processes within the MI Team, including the ongoing management of the Enterprise Report Register, ensuring all critical and regulatory reporting owned by the department is appropriately documented and governed.

A key aspect of the role will be supporting compliance with the Data Governance Policy and associated controls. Working alongside the department's Data Steward, you will assist in the creation, definition and maintenance of business terms, data lineage, metadata and business rules, helping to strengthen data governance practices across Collections & Recoveries and ensuring that data is managed consistently, transparently and in line with organisational requirements.

You will have:

• Experience working in a data quality role, including identifying, tracking and resolving data issues.
• Understanding of Data Governance frameworks, policies and best practices.
• Experience producing reports and presentations using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Experience with enterprise data governance and quality tools such as Collibra Data Intelligence Platform and Collibra DQ.
• Knowledge of data storage, data flows and data transformation principles.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and work effectively with colleagues across the organisation.
• Comfortable explaining data issues and insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
