Join a team at the forefront of one of the Society’s key growth areas. You’ll step into the role at a pivotal point, as the Business Bank strategy is finalised and put into action, offering a genuine opportunity to shape its success. This team plays a central role in supporting the Business Deposit Commercial function to deliver the strategy effectively. Working closely across Finance, including Treasury, you’ll help assess funding impacts at an entity level. You’ll also partner with Financial Planning and Stress Testing to translate strategy into robust financial plans and ensure these stand up to both internal and regulatory stress scenarios.

This is anticipated to be weekly in Glasgow.

Responsibilities
- Reviewing trading performance and analysing the key drivers, using internal and external insights.
- Working closely with colleagues to keep plans and forecasts on track, helping shape decisions that feed into longer‑term strategy and regulatory requirements.
- Preparing clear, well‑structured papers and analysis for the Senior Business Partners to support them in their discussions with the Bank Leadership Team, Board and regulators.
- Partnering with the Commercial team to support with analysis for product pricing papers.
- Looking for opportunities to keep processes simple, effective with inbuilt controls.
- Building meaningful relationships with both the Commercial and the wider Finance teams.
About you
- A professionally qualified accountant (or equivalent) with a proven track record of progression and achievement.
- Highly developed analytical capability, with the ability to translate insight into meaningful outcomes.
- A confident communicator, able to engage and influence senior stakeholders both verbally and in writing.
- Solid commercial awareness, with the ability to interpret key drivers and apply critical analysis.
- Comfortable working in a hands-on role within a small, collaborative team environment.
- A well-developed control mindset, with experience of designing and improving processes and procedures.
- Intermediate to Advanced Excel capability, with the ability to build and refine basic financial models.
- Experience in financial planning and forecasting within a financial services environment.
