Description

A fantastic opportunity has become available at Nationwide for a high-performing, passionate, and ambitious individual to bring specialist risk and control expertise. In this role, you will enable our Technology Leaders, including our Chief Information Officers (CIOs), to operate and execute effective controls and make informed, risk-based decisions to achieve positive customer outcomes.

You will be passionate about developing data-led approaches to delivering risk and control insights that drive proactive action and prioritisation.

You will have a strong track record of delivery, uphold high standards of performance, and be able to build trust and strong working relationships.

You will be comfortable working through ambiguity and proactively building your network, enabling you to collaborate effectively across Risk Management teams and with subject matter experts to produce high-quality, informative outputs.

As a high-performing Manager within the CIO & Change Risk Management Team, you will lead the delivery of risk and control services to our Products, Channels, Core Banking & Payments CIO. The team is responsible for providing subject matter expertise, objective advice, and actionable insights to support CIOs in understanding, evaluating, and improving the risk and control environment as it relates to the management of their technology and change portfolios.

Nationwide has ambitious plans to build on a modernised and simplified estate, alongside the safe and sound execution of the Virgin Money integration, unlocking its full potential for customers. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious, energetic, and experienced individual to help deliver Nationwide’s technology strategy in a safe and secure way.

At Nationwide, we offer hybrid working wherever possible. More rewarding relationships are supported through our hybrid approach, bringing colleagues together across our UK-wide estate, whilst also supporting generous access to home working. We value our time in the office to solve problems, to learn, and to feel connected.

For this job you'll spend at least two days per week, or if part time you'll spend 40% of your working time, based at either our Swindon or London offices. If you are aligned to our Glasgow hub (as this is your nearest location), there will be a need to regularly connect with colleagues for collaboration events. This is anticipated to be weekly in Glasgow. If your application is successful, your hiring manager will provide further details on how this works. You can also find out more about our approach to hybrid working here.

Whilst these locations are where we are primarily looking to fill the role, if you’re an internal applicant based in a different location, we would welcome your application and if successful, your hiring manager will provide further details on how this could work for this specific role. You can also find out more about our approach to hybrid working here.

Nationwide is committed to the redeployment of our employees impacted by change, as such applications for redeployment candidates will be prioritised in this recruitment process.
If you’re a colleague on long-term absence (for example, on parental leave) or a temporary worker, please use your personal email address to submit an application.
