We have an exciting opportunity within our Digital Business Banking Team (Business Tribe) where we’re on the lookout for a Product Owner for our Business Banking Brochureware and Marketplace. The opportunity to join the team has come at a critical time for Business Banking as we continue to drive improvement and innovation across Business Banking, focusing on improved Customer Experience and continued customer growth.
You’ll be working within Business Tribe to develop and deliver a product vision and strategy for your squad, focusing on the Business Brochureware and Marketplace, ensuring this aligns with the overall Tribe Objectives and Key Results (OKRs). As one of the closest people in the Business to the customer, you’ll provide constant feedback to the squad and help drive toward the vision. The biggest challenge is ensuring that the team knows with accurate detail, the value they need to deliver, driving towards simple solutions with a focus on the Tribe OKRs by managing a ruthlessly prioritised backlog.

This is a 12 month secondment opportunity. At Nationwide, we offer hybrid working wherever possible. This is anticipated to be monthly in Glasgow or Edinburgh.

Responsibilities:
- You’ll be working within the Business Tribe team to develop and deliver a product vision and strategy for your squad, focusing on the Business Brochureware and Marketplace, ensuring this aligns with the overall Tribe Objectives and Key Results (OKRs).
- As one of the colleagues in the Business closest to the customer, you’ll provide constant feedback to the squad to support us in achieving our vision.
- One of the biggest challenges will be ensuring that the team knows, with accurate detail, the value they need to deliver, driving towards simple solutions with a focus on the Tribe OKRs by managing a ruthlessly prioritised backlog.
- You will be a key stakeholder contact for Business Brochureware and Marketplace, liaising with marketing, risk, finance and legal stakeholders to ensure the prioritised outcomes meet all regulatory, customer and business needs.
- You’ll be responsible for the customer and business outcomes for the Business Brochureware and Marketplace team, including improving Customer Experience (CX), increasing digital adoption and customer growth.
- Working with the wider Business Tribe to set the roadmap for the Business Brochureware and Marketplace within the Tribe roadmap and agreed OKRs.
- By demonstrating great leadership and role modelling our Values and Behaviours you’ll drive successful outcomes across the squad.
- You’ll play a critical role in embedding our culture, driving performance and being accountable for building a motivated and high performing squad.
- Additionally, you’ll collaborate and network with other teams across the organisation; establishing exceptional relationships with key business areas and other Tribes and Squads.
About you:
- Demonstrable experience in Agile Development, with digital/technical Product Owner experience.
- Comfortable working with technology and the ability to engage in discussion with technical teams to understand decisions and risks.
- Confidence in managing the backlog: writing detailed user stories, refining stories with experts and typical ‘servant leader’ mindset when with the team.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate complex messages and trade-offs and tell a compelling story.
- Ability to influence a diverse group of stakeholders across the business with strong leadership skills.
- Exceptional problem-solving capabilities with the ability to lead the team to push the solution.
- A challenger mindset and passion to challenge the status quo to find new solutions and drive out of the box ideas – you love embracing change and are happy to work flexibly.
