We\’re looking for a skilled Cloud Engineer with experience in Cloud technologies to collaborate with our Data Platforms Engineering team, on advancing our Enterprise Data Lakehouse platform.

What you’ll be doing
In this role, you\’ll work in the Data Platforms Engineering team, utilising cutting-edge Cloud technology within Microsoft Azure to enhance our Enterprise Data Lakehouse platform.
Using tools such as Databricks, Python, and Terraform , you\’ll design and develop key platform functionality and data analytics solutions. Expect a hands-on experience where you\’ll contribute significantly to our daily operations, making a tangible impact with your expertise.
In this position, you\’ll be at the forefront of ensuring the efficiency and accuracy of our data platforms and processes. Your responsibilities will encompass building robust code to underpin our platforms and implementing ETL processes to streamline data movement. Crucially, you\’ll be tasked with optimising data pipelines to enhance the performance of reporting tools and dashboards.
Automation will be a key focus, as you\’ll leverage your expertise to automate routine data processes, reducing manual effort and enhancing overall efficiency. Ensuring data security and compliance standards are upheld is paramount, guaranteeing that data is handled securely and in alignment with relevant regulations.
You\’ll also be responsible for maintaining comprehensive documentation across all development efforts, facilitating knowledge transfer, making the onboarding process for new team members easier.
About you
We\’re seeking a Cloud Engineer eager to contribute to a cutting-edge Data Lakehouse platform. We\’re looking for:
- Strong Software Engineering Foundations: Hands-on experience coding in Python for tasks like data manipulation, automation, and tool development.
- Cloud Platform Experience: Exposure to Azure or AWS, including setting up and optimising Cloud infrastructure.
- Infrastructure as Code: Knowledge of Terraform to manage infrastructure and support platform development.
- DevOps Practices: Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and tools to support efficient code integration and deployment.
- Testing: Exposure to functional and non-functional testing methods.
- Agile Development: Basic understanding of Agile methodologies and their application in development projects.
- Automation: Ability to use scripting and automation tools to streamline routine processes and eliminate manual effort.
