An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Data Centre Services team. The team are responsible for managing the day to day activities and performance of the infrastructure services provided within the Nationwide data centres, providing secure supervision of change and working with project, BAU teams and third parties in the planning, delivery and installation of IT infrastructure into the data halls ensuring optimal usage of space, power and cooling. The data centres provide production, test and disaster recovery services for the business and their efficient running underpins many of the business processes used by the Society. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to progress their successful career in IT Service Delivery.This role operates on a 24/7 shift pattern of 2 days on, 2 nights on then 5 off. Then 2 days on 3 nights on then 4 off. Then 3 days on, 2 nights on then 5 off.This is role includes an additional shift allowance of 9,200 per annum.For this role you will be based onsite at our Swindon Data Centre, and you will need to travel to the Newbury Data Centre on a monthly basis. You will be responsible for ensuring that the IT infrastructure delivered by projects is planned appropriately making optimal use of the environment and the physical installation has no impact on existing services. Working collaboratively with third party installation and cabling teams you will help define the requirements and detailed installation plans and provide technical oversight of all work performed with the data halls. At times you will be taking a hands-on approach for some of the installation and cabling work when required.
