Position Overview
Qualified lawyer with a minimum of one year post‑qualified experience in general commercial contract law (or employment law). Provide practical contract support to the Legal and Compliance team, assisting with preparation, review, administration, and coordination of contracts.
Key Tasks
- Draft, review, and negotiate a range of contracts across departmental lines including procurement, partnerships, and estates.
- Advise on risk associated with draft contract terms, options available, and lead contract negotiations as required.
- Maintain accurate contract records and registers of agreements.
- Liaise with academic and professional services to progress contract matters efficiently.
- Undertake legal research and monitor legal, regulatory and sector‑specific developments to advise on potential impact on the University.
- Manage relationships with internal stakeholder clients and external contacts, maintaining the University’s legal services reputation and delivering an excellent level of service.
- Perform any other reasonably requested duties.
