Overview

Educational Health and Care Plan Coordinator – Swindon Service for Special Educational Needs to directly support the potential improvement of outcomes for children and young people with special educational needs and disability.

Role and responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the statutory assessment and plan processes for children and young people with special educational needs as part of a team of coordinators
  • Work directly in partnership with parents, children and young people, providers and practitioners to ensure Swindon has an efficient and effective statutory process that continually improves outcomes for the children and young people
  • Promote and facilitate strengths based, person centred approaches and support effective quality assurance processes and evidence based decision making for consistency and accountability

Team changes

3 Coordinators will be doing new assessments and 2 will be working on a project basis as we move to a new case management system and picking up amends of existing EHC Plans.

Qualifications and requirements

Successful candidates will require a strong work ethic, a commitment to quality and to the importance of every individual in improving outcomes for children and young people, experience in SEND and enthusiasm and skills to help develop a successful new team. A proven background in working in special educational needs and disability (SEND) including the ability to draft EHC Plans and undertake all relevant case work.

Language requirement

Must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act for the effective performance of a customer-facing role)
