An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Safeguarding and Quality Assurance Service for a Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO). This is a statutory role in the management and coordination of allegations against people working with children.
As an experienced social worker in safeguarding children, you will be working within a team to ensure that allegations are dealt with in a timely manner that is robust and fair, with positive and effective working with all stakeholders and partner agencies.
Main Responsibilities:- The LADO provides advice and guidance to employers, individuals and organisations who have concerns relating to adults who work with children in a paid or voluntary capacity where their behaviour may have harmed a child or otherwise suggests they are unsuitable to work with children.
- A social work degree and be Social Work England (SWE) registered.
- Post qualifying social work experience in children’s safeguarding.
- Knowledge of the LADO role and underpinning legislation and guidance.
- Knowledge and skills in management of risk.
- Experience of multi-agency working with the ability to scrutinise and challenge.
