A Communications & Marketing Manager is being sought to join the NSA Management Team and lead the delivery of NSA's communications, marketing and content activity across the organisation. This is an important role within the NSA team, reporting to the NSA Chief Executive, and involves regularly contributing to Management Team discussions and helping shape how NSA engages with members, stakeholders, sponsors and the wider sheep sector. It is a varied and engaging position that brings responsibility for communications leadership, marketing delivery and editorial oversight.

The focus of the role is communications, marketing and audience engagement, with clear responsibilities around content creation, membership promotion, publications and team leadership. These areas centre around:

  • Communications leadership. Leading NSA's communications activity across print, digital and social media channels, ensuring consistent messaging and effective engagement with members and stakeholders.
  • Marketing delivery. Developing and delivering marketing campaigns that support membership recruitment and retention, event attendance, commercial opportunities and wider organisational objectives.
  • Sheep Farmer magazine. Acting as Editor of Sheep Farmer magazine, overseeing editorial planning, content development, production schedules and publication deadlines.
  • Digital communications. Working with the communications team to maximise the effectiveness of NSA's digital channels, website activity, social media and audience engagement.
  • Team leadership. Managing and supporting members of the Communications Team while contributing to wider organisational planning and development.

We are looking for someone who has strong communications and marketing experience, excellent writing and editing skills, and who will take pride in helping NSA raise its profile and strengthen its impact across the UK sheep sector. This position is well suited to someone who enjoys working collaboratively within a small team, is comfortable managing multiple priorities and deadlines, and is confident communicating with a wide range of audiences and stakeholders. Commitment to UK agriculture and appreciation of the role NSA serves within the livestock sector is highly essential.
