This role is a fixed-term 12-month maternity cover. It is an opportunity to take up a senior post within our award-winning museum team, delivering inclusive creative educational experiences for children visiting with school groups, and for teachers and educators.
The Formal Learning programme builds creative confidence and skills for children from the Early Years Foundation Stage up to Key Stage 3 (from age 3 to age 14). Learning content is inspired by YV&A’s permanent galleries and an annual temporary exhibition.
Programmes and projects connect to a wide range of curriculum areas including Design and Technology, Art and Design, Literacy, Drama/Performance and STEAM subjects.
The Senior Producer for Formal Learning will be an experienced practitioner with an understanding of practice, pedagogy and curriculum, and with a proven track record delivering creative learning to school visitors in a museum or equivalent setting. The post-holder will grow our successful programme, balancing accessible provision for learners experiencing barriers or requiring access support, with a sustainable income-generating programme. The post-holder will be confident with object-based learning, and will actively seek the involvement of curators, designers, artists and other experts to enrich the schools’ programme.
