We are recruiting for a Support Worker at Apple House – Caird Avenue. Part‑time roles are available to cover nights and day shifts at the nearby Summerwood service. Caird Avenue is a brand new service forecasted to open in July 2026 on the Bournemouth/Hampshire border. The property is being refurbished to provide two ground‑floor bedrooms with an accessible wet room, two first‑floor bedrooms with ensuites, a shared communal kitchen, dining and lounge space, and a separate staff office.

We encourage the people we support to take an active role in their lives by helping them carry out daily tasks and develop confidence. The role offers opportunities to plan and participate in activities including pet therapy, visiting owls and dogs, BBQs, picnics, parties, annual holidays and weekend breaks, promoting social inclusion.

Role of a National Care Group Support Worker

You will work with young adults who have complex needs. We are looking for a respectful and caring individual who can passionately support our young adults to fulfil their potential. This is a sometimes challenging role but one with huge rewards.

Responsibilities

  • Build positive relationships with people by listening, discussing, and planning goals and ambitions together.
  • Help plan their daily tasks and assist with practical activities such as cooking, cleaning, and running errands.
  • Assist with personal care, including support with eating and administering medication.
  • Plan and participate in any exciting days out they wish to enjoy.
  • Support them to become more independent wherever possible and make a positive impact on their life.

Qualifications and Personal Qualities

  • A caring attitude, with a passion for supporting others and a motivation to see them achieve goals.
  • A team player, able to work effectively with other colleagues.
  • Resilience to keep going at difficult times and the confidence to ask for support if needed.
