Affinity Supporting People South Limited is recruiting a Service Manager in Accrington, Lancashire. As one of the UK’s leading providers of adult social care, we’re on a mission to empower people with learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs and physical disabilities to live their best, most independent lives. We’re looking for someone special to lead that mission.

The Service Manager Role

You will work alongside and directly support the Registered Manager leading the colleague team for designated services to ensure the delivery of high-quality care to the people we support in line with the Care Quality Commission/CIW regulatory requirements.

  • NVQ or QCF Level 4/5 or equivalent in Health and Social Care – or commitment to undertake.
  • Level 3 award or above in Leadership and Management – or commitment to undertake.
  • Demonstrable understanding of the principles of high-quality person-centred care and support and non-discriminatory care practice.
  • Good understanding of the regulatory responsibilities held by the Registered Manager and the law relating to care services.
  • Understanding of systems to maintain confidentiality in relation to individuals, staff, and the business.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience of building positive working relationships with people who use services and their families, staff and other health and social care professionals.
  • Ability to plan and organise workloads effectively so individuals receive the services they expect.
  • Excellent administrative skills and computer literacy.
  • Experience of managing and developing an effective staff team including recruitment, training, supporting, and monitoring staff.
  • Ability to maintain clear written and electronic records and to follow statutory reporting procedures.
  • A UK driver’s licence with access to own vehicle.
